The special coating acts as a sealer providing highly durable and both water / scratch resistant surface by protecting the wood.

What are the metal battens on the backside of the wood top for? Where do they cross on the length in inches?The wood is living, and the air temperature/humidity all affects the form of the wood. In order to minimize the movement of the wood, we use metal battens on the backside of the wood top.There are 2 metal bars recessed with screws to the backside of the table top. You can remove them according to your usage.The dimensions for the metal plates: (LxW) 19.685'' x 0.787'' in 

Can it be cut?Yes, it can be cut to any size of your preference. All you need is:

• A pen to mark the area to be cut.
• Painter's tape to cover the finished surface for protection
• A circular saw.
